COVID-19: Businesses in India allowed to reopen, but many struggling to survive

Many shops in India are slowly returning to business, despite a continuing surge in COVID-19 cases. Even though the nationwide lockdown has been extended until end-May, all shops and marketplaces have been allowed to reopen. However, many businesses are struggling to find labour, as millions of migrant labourers -- who make up 90% of the workforce -- have fled Indian cities since March. Experts warned that many are unlikely to return even after the lockdown.
